Maria Botti-Lodovico, known as Mrs. Maria to all of her students, grew up in Hampton Township, and started studying piano at the age of 5. In high school she decided to pursue more serious study to prepare for a conservatory degree in Piano Performance. Along the way she was fortunate enough to study in many wonderful places with many wonderful teachers through masterclass. She also spent some time in the summer of her senior year studying, performing, and doing masterclasses in Merano, Italy. She attended the Cleveland Institute of Music in Cleveland, Ohio, a conservatory ranked top 10 in the country and received her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degree in Piano Performance. During her time in conservatory she completed a specialization in pedagogy for not only piano but also for dalcroze eurythmics. She also competed and performed on a consistent basis in school. In her junior year of college she began teaching in the preparatory department at The Cleveland Institute of Music and also held a position as a piano faculty member at The Music Settlement, a community music school in the area. This began a 15-year career in teaching piano, intro to music classes, dalcroze eurythmics, and musical directing shows and musicals in the area. Her students ranged from age 2 and a half to 75 years of age and she found great passion and purpose in helping enrich students’ lives through music learning and expression. Mrs. Botti-Lodovico has 15 years of experience teaching early music classes to preschoolers and kindergartners and the same amount of experience teaching intro to music classes. These classes often led to many of her students becoming piano students in her studio. Mrs. Botti-Lodovico has musically directed shows such as Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Alice and Wonderland, The Little Mermaid, Once upon a Mattress, Shrek, and Honk among others. She has a great passion for working with youth and the community. In 2020, she had her first baby girl and a year and half later had her second. This prompted a move back to her hometown with her husband and daughters. She teaches piano now in the Wexford area and is excited to grow her studio and classes into the robust studio that she had in Ohio. Mrs. Botti-Lodovico strives to give each student a strong set of skills and knowledge in piano and in all her classes, and always focuses on building self-esteem, happiness, and ultimately a sense of achievement and success.
